Health-forward grooming represents the highest standard in pet care.
“Collar & Comb treats comfort, mobility, skin integrity, and long-term maintenance as first-class priorities.”
Built for pets with real-life needs, including seniors and animals who benefit from extra patience, Collar & Comb specializes in pets with PTSD and anxiety, we offer advanced safety techniques, painless-focused handling, and wellness integrated into a calming, trauma-informed, private 1:1 environment. We individually sanitize each spa suite between every pet service and provide dedicated AKC Master health and wellness expertise for dogs and cats.
Geriatric & Senior Support
Older pets are a little more seasoned and often require special needs to be met: individualized sessions, gentle handling and medically informed positioning, quieter and more efficient drying, and a plan that prioritizes comfort over speed. We adjust handling and pacing for seniors, take extra care around arthritis-prone joints, and tailor their grooming to support mobility and skin health while keeping your pet clean, comfortable, and dignified.
Deshedding
Our deshedding process is designed to reduce undercoat buildup without irritating the skin. We use coat-specific bathing shampoos and specialty conditioners that gently release hair from the follicles. We then use different types of combs, rakes, and brushes to remove excess coat, followed by a specialized, pressure-controlled warm-air blowout technique that helps lift loose undercoat, improve airflow to the skin, and reduce shedding at home. This treatment is especially helpful for double-coated breeds and pets experiencing heavy seasonal shedding cycles.
Dematting
Matted fur can be painful and may conceal skin irritation, hot spots, bacterial infections, and yeast buildup.
We first evaluate each pet’s coat condition and then determine the safest approach: targeted dematting for minor tangles or humane coat removal for severe matting.
We may use specialty conditioners, coat relaxers, diluted mixtures, and other professional techniques to create the safest and most comfortable solution possible.
We prioritize skin safety and your pet’s comfort, and we’ll recommend an appropriate maintenance schedule and at-home brushing plan to help prevent mats from returning.
Veterinary-Grade Oral Care
Our tooth-brushing service includes an enzymatic mouth and gum treatment along with a full brushing of the mouth and teeth using non-invasive procedures designed to be gentle and comfortable.

During the procedure, we also carefully clean visible, healed spaces where teeth may previously have been lost, helping maintain a cleaner overall oral environment.
Our non-anesthetic dental support is best suited for cooperative pets with mild plaque buildup who need routine maintenance—not pets with significant tartar, suspected gum disease, or oral pain.
Our various dental procedures may involve ultrasonic cleaning, descaling, regular enzymatic maintenance, or referral to our specialty care team.
If you’re unsure whether your pet is a good candidate, we can help determine the most appropriate next step based on what we observe and what your veterinarian recommends.
Teeth Brushing
Tooth brushing is available as an add-on and is performed with a hygiene-first approach using pet-safe products and careful technique.
This service is designed for ongoing maintenance between dental cleanings, not as a substitute for veterinary dental care.
Veterinary-Grade Ear Maintenance
Inner-ear care is handled gently and carefully, with an emphasis on removing visible debris, yeast, bacteria, or matting while supporting a clean, dry ear environment.
If we notice redness, strong odor, discharge, or sensitivity, we’ll recommend an appropriate veterinary solution and can connect you with our specialty care team of dermatologists, veterinarians, doctors, and wellness experts.
Ear conditions can escalate quickly, and safety always comes first.
ADVANCED SERVICES
For pets who benefit from bodywork beyond grooming, we offer expert support through qualified in-field network of providers.
Chiropractic Support
This is typically used to support comfort, movement patterns, and overall physical well-being as part of a broader care plan, especially for seniors and active dogs. Availability may vary based on provider scheduling and your pet’s medical history.
Deep Tissue Massage
when appropriate, deep-tissue-style work focuses on major muscle groups to support relaxation and physical comfort as part of an overall wellness routine. Massage therapy, physical therapy, hot stone massage, geriatric mobility support, rehabilitation, and reflexology are among the available support services and may be provided based on your pet’s individual needs and suitability.Mobility Rehabilitation Support
Some pets need a plan for movement as they grow older.
Physical rehabilitation support is one of the popular services we can help clients access and may include coordinated care and add-ons that support comfort and mobility goals alongside grooming, especially for seniors and dogs with recovery needs.
The-Glow-Up
AKA Korean Mud Facial with Volcanic Ash & Sand Exfoliation
“The Glow-Up” is our famous original skin-and-coat reset for pets who need extra love around the face, folds, and other high-contact areas.
We begin with a 10-minute pumice-sand exfoliation facial, gently working around sensitive areas, between deep folds, in front of the ears, and along the external ear flaps.
We then follow with a hand-massaged Korean mud relaxer and moisturizing volcanic ash treatment designed to help nurture and soothe irritation, lift grime and oil, refresh the coat, and leave a soft, clean finish.
Full Facial
This is a wonderful treatment for pets with recurring dry noses, yeast buildup, or irritable skin. We hand-muddle organic blueberries and blend them with a special probiotic yogurt, soothing natural oils including coconut, and white honey from Montana. The Blueberry Facial is a gentle facial cleanse designed to support bright, clean eye areas and a soft, moisturized muzzle. We tailor all spa services and products to your pet’s individual skin sensitivity and coat type.
Big Body: Sugar Scrub
Big Body is our full-body exfoliating and conditioning treatment designed for dogs, cats, and other animals with thinning hair, exotic or hairless coats, alopecia, ultra-coarse fur, and other nontraditional skin and coat types, including select reptiles.
At the heart of the treatment is raw turbinado sugar, blended into our proprietary botanical body-polish formula with jojoba, aloe, oat milk, calendula, honey, coconut, and a curated blend of botanical oils.
The complete proportions and formulation remain a Collar & Comb house secret, but the treatment is designed to gently buff away surface buildup and dry skin while nourishing exposed areas and leaving the skin soft, polished, conditioned, and refreshed.
Like all of our specialty treatments, the formulation and application are adjusted according to the individual pet’s skin type, coat condition, sensitivity, and tolerance.
Color Treatment
We are masters of this creative craft.
Do you want your puppy to look like a cheetah with hidden spots representing hearts, dog bones, or emojis? How about a Tiffany-blue poodle with pink Chanel logos? We can create custom colors and handcrafted mixes, including color matching to your favorite nail polish, car, furniture, or wardrobe. Creative color is available for clients who want a true fashion finish—from subtle accents to bold statements—using pet-safe color products and careful application. We’ll consider whether your pet’s skin and coat are a good fit for the service, and we’ll keep the entire experience low-stress, clean, and privately controlled in the 1:1 environment that represents the spa experience we are famous for.
These treatments are all provided by our specialty care team. They are especially helpful for older babies, pets recovering from physical ailments, and animals managing conditions related to injury, sports, overexertion, mobility changes, and a whole host of other challenges that may affect the modern pet. Throughout every service, our priorities remain the same: exceptional standards, appropriate technique, individualized care, sanitation, safety, quality, and the comfort of the animal in front of us.
